Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation

Written by Joy Dembo on . Posted in 2015

Your Mission is to see “Mission Impossible – Rogue Nation” – It’s a Winner!

Ethan Hunt is back in the fifth movie in the Mission Impossible series. And this 007 clone is one of the best spy thrillers I’ve seen in a long while.  It was truly exciting and kept me on my toes for the full 2 hours running time. It’s one of those ‘can’t miss a second or you won’t know what’s going on” films!

Tom Cruise insisted on doing his own stunts, and the movie opens with Ethan Hunt intercepting a shipment of nerve gas being sold to Australian terrorists.  The plane carrying the gas is about to take off when Ethan grabs the door and hangs on for dear life as the plane becomes airborne. Ethan believes that an international criminal consortium named “The Syndicate” exists and whilst he is awaiting his orders from IMF (Impossible Mission Force), he is captured by the Syndicate and after being tortured by Janik aka Bone Doctor (Jens Hulten), believed to be the leader of the infamous Syndicate, he manages to escape with the help of Ilsa Faust (Rebecca Ferguson) a disavowed MI6 agent. Meanwhile CIA Director Alan Hunley (Alec Baldwin) and IMF agent William Brandt (Jeremy Renner) succeed in having the IMF disbanded and absorbed into the CIA.

Hunt, still on the run, is as determined as ever to prove that the Syndicate exists and so the adventure begins.  High speed bike chases, underwater shenanigans which almost cost Hunt his life and the mandatory spectacular gun battles and unbelievable stunts are all part of the fun.

Whether you are a die-hard MI fan, or just looking for a super duper action film to keep you entertained for a couple of hours, this movie is for you!

The movie was released by Paramount Pictures, written and directed by Christopher McQuarrie and produced by Tom Cruise, JJ Abrams and David Ellison of Skydance Productions.

The movie is being released in South Africa on Friday, 07 August and is classified 13V.
