Bad Neighbours

Written by Joy Dembo on . Posted in 2014

Bad Neighbours is wickedly funny!

Bad Neighbours is an adult comedy that is great for a good laugh.  There’s nothing intellectual or thought provoking about this movie.  Its just pure entertainment for adults and the older teens.

Mac (played by Seth Rogan) and Kelly (played by Rose Byrne) Radner are a recently married couple, who are adjusting to life with a baby daughter. Although they adore their daughter, they envy their friends’ carefree lifestyle.  Then… as if they are not dealing with enough… new neighbours move into the vacant house next door. But, these are not ordinary neighbours!  Nope!  They are horrified to learn that  Delta Psi Beta, a college fraternity known for their outrageous parties,  is moving in and  the fraternity's leaders, Teddy Sanders (Played by Zac Ephron) and Pete Regazolli (Played by Dave Franco), are aiming to  join Delta Psi's Hall of Fame by throwing a huge, raucous, anything goes end-of-the-year party.

The couple introduce themselves to the Frat boys and try and convince them that although they are “older people”, they are still very cool. They bond with their new neighbours, but the noise coming from the house until all hours of the night is becoming unbearable and they decide to ask the guys to please keep the noise down. Teddy agrees to keep the noise levels down on condition that the couple always calls them if they want the noise kept down and never call the police.  Mac agrees, but the following night, he can’t reach Teddy,  and in desperation, he calls the police.

This results in a hilarious game of one upmanship between the frat guys and the Radners, which will have you rolling in the aisle with laughter.

The movie was written by Andrew Cohen and Bredon O’Brien, directed by Nicholas Stoller and produced by Evan Goldberg and, James Weaver.  Released by Universal Pictures, the film opens in South Africa on 18 July, at cinemas countrywide.

The film is classified 16 LSDPP and contains a fair amount of bad language and good natured sex scenes.
