Tell Me Something Sweet

Written by Joy Dembo on . Posted in 2015

Local Movie “Tell Me Something Sweet” is such a SWEET show!

We are all so tuned into Hollywood Blockbusters that we rarely give local productions a chance, but seriously, if you enjoy light-hearted romantic comedies, with a local touch, go and see this movie.

The movie is about Moratiwa, (played by Nomzamo Mbatha) a young lady who won every writing prize in the book as a school girl, and is now an aspiring writer who has writers block and can’t seem to get going on a new novel.  She owns a bookstore in the trendy Maboneng Precinct, where she lives but unfortuantely, the book store isn’t doing very well, and the beautiful Moritiwa’s love life isn’t too great either, as her live-in boyfriend had gone out to buy milk and never returned!

However, everything changes when she meets sexy male model, Nat (played by Maps Maponyane).
There are some hilarious moments in the movie, and if nothing else this show will have you laughing your butt off.

In-between scenes three elderly couples who have been married forever are interviewed and to mind, this is the most heart-warming part of the movie.

The movie is directed by Akin Omotoso and produced by Robbie Thorpe.
The movie features a host of well-known South African actors, including  Kagiso Lediga Thomas Gumede, Thembi Seete,  Mandisa Bardill, and Thishiwe Ziqubu.

The movie is being released on 4 September, at cinemas countrywide.
